In order to compare the nutrient content of two different pet diets, you must first convert them to a dry matter basis. This form will calculate the dry matter basis for you; simply enter the percentage of moisture (water) from each food label and the nutrient percentage you wish to compare.

Step 2 Enter the percentage of moisture in the foods you wish to compare.
Step 3 What is the percentage of the nutrient you wish to compare in each diet?
Step 4 Compare the dry matter basis of the two products to see which contains more nutrient.
