What's in a Name

What’s in a name?

It’s not “WHERE’S THE BEEF?” but you might ask “Exactly HOW MUCH beef does the product contain?” In addition to reviewing the ingredient list, you may get a hint by the placement of the ingredient in the name of the product.

  • EXAMPLE A: “CHICKEN for DOGS” contains at least 70% chicken.
  • EXAMPLE B: “CHICKEN DINNER” contains at least 10% chicken.
  • EXAMPLE C: “DINNER for DOGS with CHICKEN” contains at least 3% chicken.
  • EXAMPLE D: “CHICKEN flavor” must be recognized by the animal.
  • See “Ingredients” for more information.
